The role
Dentons is seeking a Senior Associate/Special Counsel with 5+ years of experience in Employment and Litigation to join their Sydney team. This role involves high-volume, litigation-focused work defending claims before courts and tribunals, with significant advocacy opportunities and client interaction.
What you'll do
- Help defend claims before the courts and tribunals
- Manage a substantial and growing portfolio of contentious matters from commencement through to resolution
- Undertake genuine, hands-on advocacy
- Make regular appearances before the courts and tribunals
- Work directly with sophisticated clients on complex and strategically important matters
- Collaborate closely with a high-performing team of lawyers and paralegals
- Take ownership of matters
- Contribute to strategy
- Mentor junior lawyers
- Build expertise in a unique and emerging area of law
What we're looking for
5+ years PQE, ideally gained within a leading national, international or specialist employment practice

A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment
A genuine interest in developing expertise in a unique and emerging area of law
Advocacy experience before the Fair Work Commission· nice to have
