Senior Associate - Employment Law

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking a Senior Associate level Employment lawyer to advise on contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The role is for an experienced lawyer with a strong employment background, ideally gained within a large-scale international or regional top-tier firm.

What you'll do

• Advise on workforce conduct issues and other internal issues including carrying out fact finding and internal investigations on behalf of clients including implementing recommendations
• Advise clients on compliance with local laws and regulations
• Instruct and liaise with correspondent law firms across the region
• Act for and advise global, multinational, and local clients on a range of issues, including start up employment infrastructure, corporate governance and senior executive incentive schemes
• Advise clients on large scale restructuring exercises including employee communications and drafting documents
• Advise clients on structuring issues
• Provide advice and support to clients on a full range of employment issues, including recruitment and sponsorship procedures, remuneration and benefits packages, grievance and disciplinary procedures and issues arising on the termination of employment
• Support the corporate department with employment issues arising out of transactions, such as undertaking employment due diligence, drafting warranties and indemnities in agreements and the transfer of employees
• Draft and amend employment contracts, employee handbooks, policies and procedures and other employment related documentation
• Advise clients across a range of sectors including energy, transport, mining & resources, construction & engineering, insurance and reinsurance, financial services, telecommunications and information technology on employment specific issues arising in these sectors
• Defend clients on large scale and complex employment disputes in the local courts and in the financial centres
• Advise clients on settlement of disputes and drafting settlement agreements
• Advise clients on immigration matters
