The role

An exceptional Senior Associate is sought for the leading Sydney Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety (WRES) team, supporting Partner Amanda Lyras. This role is for an individual with a genuine passion for employment law who thrives on complex disputes, strategic advisory work, and wishes to build and refine their career in this specialized field within a firm that invests in progression.

What you'll do

Take a lead role in advising on strategic and sensitive employment matters
Act in employee disputes across various Courts and Tribunals
Advise on whistleblowing
Conduct workplace investigations
Advise on discrimination and harassment
Advise on the enforcement of post-employment restraints
Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions
Advise on WHS
Advise on modern slavery

What we're looking for

At least 7 years PQE

Deep experience working across a range of employment law and workplace relations matters gained within a reputable commercial law firm

Track record of excellence in legal work, rigour of thinking, and client outcomes

Drive and confidence to effectively manage a diverse workload with autonomy

Collaborative and generous team member

Proven experience in supervising, mentoring, and investing in the development of junior team members

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Practical and solutions-focused approach

Genuine enthusiasm for employment law

Appetite for business development, including building and deepening client relationships, delivering seminars, publishing thought leadership, and enhancing the firm's profile in the market

Proactive commitment to continuous professional development
