The role

Oon & Bazul is seeking a lawyer with 3-5 years of PQE to join their Litigation practice in Singapore. This role is for an ambitious individual interested in developing expertise, taking ownership of complex disputes, and contributing to the firm's growth.

What you'll do

Work on shipping and maritime disputes, including charterparty and COA disputes, cargo claims and marine insurance disputes, ship arrests, collisions, and maritime casualties, offshore, energy, and trade related disputes
Act in Singapore court proceedings and international arbitrations (including LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, and ad hoc arbitrations)
Be involved early in strategy, case management, and client advisory work
Learn to manage client relationships and cross border matters with increasing autonomy
Contribute to the development of the practice as the firm expands into new and evolving areas of shipping and trade disputes
Work on various commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, often with a strong cross-border element
Tackle complex legal and commercial problems and help clients navigate them with clear, practical, and commercially sensible solutions
Play an active role in case strategy, drafting pleadings and submissions, and supporting advocacy
Work closely with partners and clients, contributing meaningfully to discussions on legal strategy and business outcomes

What we're looking for

Singapore qualified lawyer with 3-5 years PQE

Strong foundation and keen interest in shipping and maritime disputes

Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills

Commercial awareness and sound business judgement

Demonstrated interest in client relationship management and long-term client engagement

Experience in complex commercial litigation and/or international arbitration

Arbitration experience preferred, but not mandatory· nice to have
