Associate (1-7PQE) - Construction at Clyde & Co

The role

Clyde & Co is seeking an Associate with 1-5 years of PQE to join its Construction practice in Singapore. This role focuses on construction disputes, litigation, and arbitration, working with leading partner Eugene Tan on complex and large-scale matters.

What you'll do

Assist the Partners and other team members on a range of complex and large-scale matters
Manage own caseload of both non-contentious and contentious construction and arbitration matters
Research, review and draft documentation including contracts and projects documents, opinions, advice and correspondence
Engage with clients, taking instructions, preparing updates, and contributing to strategy discussions
Prepare for and participate in business development-related activities and initiatives
Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and trainees (for mid-level candidates with higher PQE)

What we're looking for

Between 1-5 years of post-qualification experience acting for and advising clients

Qualified to practise in Singapore

Experience in commercial litigation, mediation, adjudication and arbitration

Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail in producing high quality work

Analytical and critical thinking skills commensurate with level, with ability to assess and articulate legal and risk issues clearly

Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a team with limited supervision, managing tasks and receiving feedback at pace

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Networking ability

Construction experience is preferred· nice to have

Exposure to, or experience working on cross-border disputes· nice to have

Interest or exposure to front end construction and commercial work is an advantage· nice to have
