The role

Baker McKenzie is seeking a Junior-Level Global Equity Services/Compensation Associate with 1-3 years of experience for its Employment, Finance, Securities, and Tax practices in Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York. This role will focus on advising clients on the design, implementation, and maintenance of global incentive and compensation arrangements.

What you'll do

Assist clients in designing, implementing and maintaining global incentive and compensation arrangements
Draft correspondence, memoranda, legal opinions, and other client-related documents
Advise on legal/regulatory/tax matters associated with global compensation arrangements

What we're looking for

One to three years of experience assisting clients in designing, implementing and maintaining global incentive and compensation arrangements

Experience drafting correspondence, memoranda, legal opinions, and other client-related documents

Experience advising on legal/regulatory/tax matters associated with global compensation arrangements

Strong academic credentials

Excellent communication and writing skills

Familiarity with issues of U.S. and non-U.S. securities, tax, currency control, employment, and other laws affecting such arrangements

Admitted and a member in good standing of the Bar in the state of employment

Experience in cross-border M&As, spin-offs, divestitures, IPOs and redomestications· nice to have

Experience advising on U.S. domestic executive compensation and other incentive arrangements· nice to have

Strong global tax or global employment law background· nice to have

Major law firm experience· nice to have
