Senior Associate, Pro Bono

The role

Sparke Helmore is seeking a Senior Associate in their Pro Bono team in Sydney. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 5+ years of PQE and a focus on Wills & Estates matters within a pro bono context.

What you'll do

• Oversee the assessment and coordination of pro bono referrals, working with community legal centres, internal stakeholders and legal teams to determine eligibility, risk, resourcing requirements and strategic alignment
• Drive a range of pro bono initiatives, including legal clinics, workshops and lawyer secondments
• Develop training materials, resources and related documentation
• Provide strategic oversight and legal expertise on Wills & Estates pro bono matters, including wills, end-of-life planning documents and estate administration matters
• Draft, review and maintain secondment agreements, volunteer agreements, precedents and internal templates
• Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the firm's pro bono program
• Build and maintain strong relationships across the firm and with external partners
• Lead training, presentations, stakeholder engagement and networking initiatives
• Lead and participate in the firm’s various pro bono clinics, community legal education programs, legal matters and strategic projects
