The role

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is seeking a Solicitor for their Commercial Litigation practice in Sydney. This role is for a lawyer with 2-4 years of experience to focus on general commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on regulatory and tax disputes, as well as complex strategic disputes and investigations.

What you'll do

Work closely with Hugh Paynter and other pre-eminent disputes partners and senior lawyers across the group
Undertake a range of work that supports local, national and international clients
Contribute to an excellent client service
Handle files
Identify issues
Proactively provide solutions
Play an important role in projects to further develop business opportunities with existing and new clients
Work with colleagues in our interstate and international offices

What we're looking for

2-4 years' experience as a lawyer advising on a range of commercial litigation matters from a leading private practice firm or in-house environment

An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset

A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of a leading and supportive team

An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously

Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team

A hunger to learn and develop and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice

An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies
