The role

This role is for an experienced Commercial Disputes Lawyer with 3+ years of PQE to join Ashurst Perkins Coie's Reach Legal Consultant platform in Melbourne. The position focuses on managing commercial disputes and litigation matters.

What you'll do

Manage commercial disputes and litigation matters
Develop strategy for dispute matters
Assess risk for dispute matters
Coordinate dispute matters
Liaise with external legal providers
Review legal advice
Oversee the delivery of legal services
Provide legal advice to internal clients on contentious matters and dispute management strategies
Manage multiple dispute matters concurrently
Work closely with operational teams, executives, government stakeholders and external advisers

What we're looking for

3+ years of experience

Demonstrated experience managing commercial disputes and litigation matters

Strong experience supporting the day-to-day management of dispute matters

Proven ability to liaise effectively with external legal providers, review legal advice and oversee the delivery of legal services

Experience providing practical, risk-based legal advice on contentious matters and dispute management strategies

Ability to manage multiple dispute matters concurrently

Experience working on construction, infrastructure or major project disputes

Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to work autonomously and contribute within a collaborative team environment

Current Australian practising certificate

Right to live and work in Australia

Experience operating within a government, infrastructure, transport or public sector environment would be highly regarded· nice to have
