Reach Legal Consultant | Banking & Finance Lawyer | Melbourne

The role

This is a 6-month full-time hybrid role for an experienced Banking and Finance Lawyer with 5+ years of PQE. The role is based in Melbourne and is part of the Reach Legal Consultant platform, a flexible resourcing solution from Ashurst Perkins Coie, focused on finance law.

What you'll do

• Structure, draft, review, negotiate and execute a broad range of financing transactions
• Support institutional banking or relationship banking businesses
• Provide commercially focused legal advice across lending, customer and transactional matters
• Advise on the legal and regulatory framework applicable to banking and financial services, including the Corporations Act, Banking Code of Practice, Unfair Contract Terms regime and related regulatory requirements
• Coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive transactions to financial close
• Provide strategic and pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders on complex customer, credit, risk and regulatory issues
• Work closely with bankers, credit teams, risk functions, product teams and senior business leaders
• Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality legal support
