The role
Irwin Mitchell is seeking a Senior Associate/Legal Director for their High Net Worth and International Private Client team in London. This role is for an experienced lawyer with over 5 years of PQE, specializing in complex private client, tax, trust, and estate matters for high-net-worth individuals and families.
What you'll do
- Lead on complex and high-value matters
- Act as a trusted adviser to an impressive client base
- Build strong relationships with intermediaries and referral networks
- Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across the firm, bringing together specialist expertise to deliver strategic solutions for clients with sophisticated and often international requirements
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers
- Share technical knowledge
- Contribute to thought leadership
- Support business development initiatives
- Help to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
What we're looking for
Significant experience advising on private client, tax, trust and succession planning matters
Strong technical capability and the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice on complex legal and tax issues
Experience leading substantial client matters and managing multiple stakeholders across often complex and multi-jurisdictional projects
The ability to build trusted adviser relationships with clients, professional contacts and referral sources
A track record of developing and maintaining strong internal and external networks
Commercial awareness and an understanding of profitability, pricing, matter management and the importance of delivering value to clients
A proactive approach to business development, including networking, profile raising, thought leadership and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships and win new work
Strong judgement, risk awareness and an ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and practical outcomes
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with sophisticated clients, advisers and senior stakeholders
5+ years of experience
Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior lawyers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture· nice to have
