The role

Gateley seeks a Construction Legal Director with 8+ years of PQE to join their Leeds-based Construction team. This role is ideal for an experienced construction lawyer with a strong background in contentious matters, but also offers opportunities in non-contentious projects and business development.

What you'll do

Working alongside experienced Construction Partners on a broad range of predominantly contentious matters
Be involved in non-contentions projects
Develop their skills in this area within a leading national team
Interacting effectively with colleagues and clients at every level
Actively engaging in business development

What we're looking for

At least 8 years' PQE level construction experience

Experience at least partially advising on contentious / disputes construction matters

A solid understanding of fundamental construction law

Ambition to build and grow a network of clients within professional services

Excellent inter-personal skills and a confident manner in engaging with clients and colleagues

A strong team work ethic and the ability to work effectively under pressure

Drive, commitment, self-motivation and a "can do" attitude

The ability to exercise discretion and professionalism at all times

Exceptional attention to detail

Experience in contentious transactions· nice to have
