Disease Solicitor

The role

This role is for a Solicitor, Cilex, or Associate with NQ to Associate level experience within the Disease Litigation team. The position is based in one of the firm's Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, or Leicester offices and focuses on managing a caseload of litigated industrial disease claims on behalf of insurer and corporate clients.

What you'll do

• Manage a caseload of litigated NIHL, HAVS/WRULD and/or asbestos-related injury claims claims effectively, efficiently and with minimal supervision
• Draft full strategy reports and advices
• Undertake legal research and investigations
• Draft pleadings
• Attend conferences, court and client meetings
• Communicate with clients, counsel and other parties
• Involvement in business development, client relationship management and profile-raising initiatives as well as alignment to relevant segment/sector groups
• Complete client and internal MI procedures
• Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
• Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures, SLAs and KPIs are adhered to
• Comply with relevant policies and procedures
• Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
