The role
We are seeking a lawyer with 4-5 PQE to join our dynamic Commercial Litigation Group. This role is for a technically excellent lawyer who can provide pragmatic and commercial advice, capable of working independently on smaller matters and collaboratively within a team on larger cases. The role involves direct collaboration with partners and other group members.
What you'll do
- Manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, strategic advice to clients
- Draft inter-partes correspondence, evidence, and interim applications
- Liaise with counsel, experts, and other stakeholders throughout proceedings
- Support senior team members on large-scale litigation and arbitration matters
- Co-manage client relationships and conduct day-to-day communications with clients
- Attend client meetings, mediations, and court hearings
- Take an active role and interest in marketing and business development within the firm and across all the firm’s industries
- Make a contribution to strategy and take the lead on execution
What we're looking for
4-5 PQE
Technically excellent
Ability to deliver advice in a pragmatic and commercial manner
Practical experience of working independently on smaller matters
Practical experience of being part of a team on larger matters
Ability to take responsibility for tasks while also following direction competently and efficiently
Ability to think and act independently and proactively when required
Adaptability
Willingness to engage with all aspects of a matter, from early pre-action stage through to trial
Confidence, empathy, and availability when dealing directly with clients
Ability to deliver a high level of client service tailored to each client's specific priorities
Experience with breach of contract claims· nice to have
Experience with company law disputes including shareholder disputes· nice to have
Experience with fraud claims· nice to have
