Associate - Insolvency

The role

We are seeking an Associate with at least 4 years of PQE in transactional, advisory, and contentious restructuring and insolvency work. This role is for lawyers who can provide excellent technical expertise, client management, and profile-raising skills to support the cross-office Insolvency team in Manchester, handling both non-contentious and litigation matters.

What you'll do

• Advise office holders, directors, lenders and other stakeholders on restructuring and insolvency issues
• Act for office holders and buyers on distressed business and asset sales
• Undertake insolvency litigation including breach of duty, transactions at undervalue and other claims
• Handle own caseload (subject to supervision)
• Assist partners and senior lawyers with more substantial matters including distressed transactions and insolvency litigation
• Build and maintain effective client relationships, particularly with referrers of work such as national accountancy and insolvency practitioners
• Participate in marketing initiatives, including client training days / seminars / contributions to our quarterly insolvency newsletter and other BD activities
• Ensure files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures
• Participate in firm-wide and departmental training sessions
• Meet targets as agreed
• Manage files, time and billing efficiently and in a cost-effective manner
