The role

Morrison & Foerster is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join their Business Restructuring + Insolvency Practice Group in New York. This role is ideal for an enterprising lawyer looking for substantive opportunities to develop as an advocate in complex litigation.

What you'll do

  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare and examine witnesses
  • Participate directly in case strategy
  • Appear and argue in court
  • Manage document productions

What we're looking for

2-4 years of experience in commercial, securities, bankruptcy, or other complex litigation
Experience working on large, sophisticated, fast-moving litigation and investigation teams
Comfortable managing multiple workstreams and competing deadlines in high-stakes matters
Substantial hands-on experience with complex discovery
Experience developing case strategy from large factual records
Experience working with witnesses and experts
Experience coordinating with broader litigation teams
Excellent writing skills
Rigorous thinking skills
Meaningful experience researching complex legal issues
Experience drafting memos, briefs, motions, and other substantive advocacy
Strong analytical skills and judgment
Ability to quickly master complicated factual records
Ability to identify the issues that matter
Ability to develop practical and persuasive arguments
Strong academic credentials
Admitted to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you practice or eligible for admission
Prior bankruptcy experience· nice to have
