Associate - Public Law & Regulation (Birmingham)

The role

This role is for a Solicitor with NQ-2PQE to join a specialist Public Law & Regulation team in Birmingham. The role focuses on providing public administrative and regulatory law advice across various sectors, engaging in both contentious and non-contentious matters for a wide range of clients.

What you'll do

• Provide public law and regulatory advice
• Act on contentious and non-contentious matters
• Work with central government departments, regulators, and arm's-length bodies
• Advise companies that are regulated by or interact with public bodies
• Engage in judicial review, statutory and regulatory appeal mechanisms
• Advise on human rights and equalities law
• Advise on constitutional law and applicable frameworks
• Advise on statutory powers and duties
• Advise on statutory interpretation and application
• Develop and draft legislative and subsidiary legal instruments
• Advise on regulatory compliance and enforcement
• Advise on due process and consultation duties and principles
• Advise on economic and consumer regulation
• Collaborate with in-house legal, commercial, and policy teams
• Collaborate with policy makers, commercial leads, chief executives and board members
• Collaborate with clients and their other advisors
• Participate in cross-firm teams focusing on particular sectors
• Get involved in pro bono work
