The role

Mills Oakley is seeking a Senior Associate with 5-8 years of PQE to join their Competition, Regulatory & Risk team in Sydney, Australia. This role focuses on providing high-quality legal services within the firm's key practice areas of Antitrust/Competition and Regulatory law.

What you'll do

Have day to day carriage of matters
Maintain and foster existing client relationships
Support Partners / Special Counsel and other practice group members to achieve group goals involving delivery of legal services
Participate in professional development activities when required
Brief counsel
Draft Court Documents including pleadings, affidavits, applications
Correspond with opposing counsel, Courts and Tribunals
Research complex legal matters
Provide concise and accurate summaries and advice to senior practitioners and clients

What we're looking for

Between 5 and 8 years PQE

Demonstrable litigation and/or insolvency experience

Ability to deliver high-quality legal services commensurate with level of experience

Ability to maintain and foster existing client relationships

Ability to support Partners / Special Counsel and other practice group members

Litigation experience including briefing counsel, drafting Court Documents including pleadings, affidavits, applications, and corresponding with opposing counsel, Courts and Tribunals

Ability to clearly articulate technical arguments

Ability to research complex legal matters and provide concise and accurate summaries and advice to senior practitioners and clients

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage workflow and deadlines with minimum supervision

Ability to receive and assimilate feedback from senior practice members

Ability to add to positive office culture
