Senior Associate | Real Estate

The role

This is a Senior Associate role within the Real Estate team at Hamilton Locke, ideal for an experienced lawyer with at least 5 years of PQE. The role involves managing significant capital and development transactions from start to finish, fostering client relationships, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities to work with Partner John Frangi on complex real estate matters.

What you'll do

• Run and manage significant capital and development transactions from start to finish
• Develop key client relationships
• Mentor junior lawyers and support staff
• Work on complex real estate transactions across various asset classes
• Engage in acquisitions and disposals of large format retail shopping centres on behalf of sellers and buyers, including associated due diligence
• Handle acquisitions of alternative real estate assets and associated due diligence, including commercial marinas
• Manage development management agreements and joint venture arrangements relating to the development and sale of residential, retail and other mixed use assets
• Negotiate agreements for lease and leases on behalf of landlords and tenants in the large format supermarket, industrial and childcare sectors
• Negotiate the real estate aspects of significant corporate M&A transactions and liaise with members of the Corporate Team to finalise key M&A transaction documentation
• Negotiate and finalise sale contracts on behalf of insolvency practitioners for distressed real estate transactions
• Provide ad-hoc advices to clients in relation to property law issues
