Associate/Senior Associate - Commonwealth Government - Administrative Law & Litigation - Sydney

The role

This role is for a lawyer at any seniority level to join the Commonwealth Government administrative law and litigation team in Sydney, Canberra, or Melbourne. The position focuses on merits and judicial review matters, supporting Commonwealth Government agencies.

What you'll do

• Manage a caseload of merits and judicial review matters
• Represent various Commonwealth Government agencies before the Federal Circuit, Federal and High Courts, and the Administrative Review Tribunal
• Handle day-to-day carriage of matters
• Draft prospects advice and litigation strategies
• Prepare evidence
• Draft submissions
• Prepare other Court and Tribunal documents
• Undertake solicitor advocacy in the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court
• Instruct Counsel
• Work on a broad range of engaging matters
• Gain direct client exposure and build strong professional relationships
• Collaborate closely with Partners and senior lawyers within the team
• Receive meaningful supervision and support
