The role

HWLE Lawyers is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate for their Commonwealth Government - Administrative Law & Litigation team in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra. This role is for lawyers with 0+ years of experience who are interested in Commonwealth administrative law and litigation matters.

What you'll do

• Manage a caseload of merits and judicial review matters representing Commonwealth Government agencies
• Undertake day-to-day carriage of matters
• Draft prospects advice and litigation strategies
• Prepare evidence
• Draft submissions
• Prepare other Court and Tribunal documents
• Undertake solicitor advocacy in the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court
• Instruct Counsel
• Work on a broad range of engaging matters
• Gain direct client exposure and build strong professional relationships
• Collaborate closely with Partners and senior lawyers within the team
• Receive meaningful supervision and support
