Senior Associate at DLA Piper

The role

DLA Piper is hiring a Senior Associate for its Real Estate team in Sydney. This role is for experienced lawyers with significant real estate law experience, focusing on leading complex, high-value transactions and building client relationships. The role reports to and supports the Head of Real Estate Australia and Sector Head for Real Estate Australia Internationally.

What you'll do

Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex real estate transactions
Build and maintain strong client relationships through commercially focused, solution-driven advice
Manage matters and coordinate multi-disciplinary and cross-border teams
Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers within a high-performing team
Contribute to business development initiatives
Identify growth opportunities across key sectors
Maintain technical excellence
Provide pragmatic, market-informed advice

What we're looking for

Around 5 + years' PQE

Significant experience in real estate law

Experience in acquisitions

Experience in disposals

Experience in development

Experience in leasing

Experience in asset management

Strong commercial acumen

Ability to deliver practical, business-oriented advice

Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment

Excellent drafting skills

Excellent communication skills

Excellent client relationship skills

Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members

An interest in alternative asset classes such as data centres, infrastructure and renewable energy· nice to have
