The role

Reed Smith seeks a Senior-Level Associate for its Emerging Technologies practice in Chicago. This role focuses on data privacy, technology transactions, and compliance within the Entertainment & Media Group.

What we're looking for

6+ years of experience in emerging technologies, data privacy, and/or advertising and marketing

Specific experience in privacy and product compliance and counseling

Specific experience in tech transactions

Specific experience in data transactions

Specific experience in contract drafting and negotiation

Specific experience in AdTech, digital media and advertising transactions

Specific experience in data breach counseling and transactions

Active member of the Illinois state bar

Familiarity with digital advertising technology

Familiarity with AI-related legal and regulatory matters

Developing internal data protection programs· nice to have

Conducting privacy assessments and building out data maps· nice to have

Performing data protection impact assessments· nice to have

Drafting privacy policies· nice to have

Negotiating data processing agreements· nice to have

Managing data incident response· nice to have

Advising on cutting-edge or high-risk privacy issues, like AI, AdTech, health data, biometric data, and/or kids and teen data· nice to have
