Practice Area Associate - Litigation: Employment at Sullivan & Cromwell

The role

This role is for an experienced Practice Area Associate with at least four years of PQE in employment law, specifically within the management side of a law firm's employment group. The role is part of the Litigation Group and focuses on supporting the Employment Practice. Prior government experience with employment law enforcement agencies is also encouraged.

What you'll do

Draft employment/separation agreements
Advise on terminations
Advise on restrictive covenants
Conduct workplace investigations
Advise on reductions in force
Draft employer handbooks
Provide employment diligence for transactions
Advise on compliance with applicable employment laws

What we're looking for

At least four years of experience working in a law firm’s employment group on the management side

Broad range of experience in employment, including drafting employment/separation agreements, advising on terminations, restrictive covenants, workplace investigations, reductions in force, employer handbooks, employment diligence for transactions, and compliance with applicable employment laws

Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local employment laws

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively

Prior government experience such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or a state or local agency responsible for enforcing employment laws· nice to have

Benefits

Expected Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $350,000
