Competition Associate at CMS

The role

An ambitious associate with 2-4 PQE is sought for a London, Edinburgh, or Glasgow-based role within a large Antitrust, Competition & Trade team. The role focuses on a balanced practice across transactional, contentious, and advisory work, with a particular interest in supporting the Technology, Media, Life Sciences, and Energy & Utilities sector teams.

What you'll do

Be embedded in client relationships
Be involved in business development activities within the team and across the firm’s sector groups
Cooperate on a daily basis with our international offices
Travel

What we're looking for

2-4 years of PQE

Solid background and experience/training in UK and EU competition law

Experience in FDI

Excellent communication and drafting skills

Ability to communicate succinctly

Strong commercial acumen

Ability to provide clients with focused strategic advice

Good commercial awareness and curiosity about market developments

Collaborative and supportive approach

Ability to build strong relationships

Positive, service-delivery mindset

Willingness to learn one or more of public procurement, state aid/subsidy, consumer and/or trade law· nice to have
