Funds Associate (1-2 PQE) at A&O Shearman

The role

We are recruiting for a junior Funds Associate to join our Global Funds & Asset Management Group in London. This role is for a lawyer with 1-2 years of PQE in asset management and private funds who will focus on advising asset managers and investment funds on establishing private funds and associated regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

Draft, review and negotiate key fund documentation such as PPMs, LPAs and constitutional documents
Draft, review and negotiate investment management, depositary, brokerage/clearing and similar agreements
Build up strong regulatory knowledge tailored to an asset management practice, covering AIFMD and MIFID regulation re asset management

What we're looking for

England & Wales qualified lawyer

1-2 years PQE within asset management and private funds

Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and versatility

Self-starter with the desire and ability to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge

Detail-focused and willing to push on to get things done correctly

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Excellent client relationship skills

Sound experience of operating at associate level within a complex international organisation

Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions and advice

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Collaborative team player with the ability to develop and work in a fast paced, intellectually rigorous environment

A person of sound judgment, able to establish a high level of credibility
