The role
Cooley LLP is seeking an experienced associate with two to five years of broad experience in employment law to join their Employment and Labor practice group in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Santa Monica. The role is ideal for a candidate with strong employment counseling skills and experience in case development, discovery, and advising clients on policies and compliance.
What you'll do
- Advise clients on employment policies and practices
- Advise clients on statutory and regulatory compliance
- Advise clients on employment and separation agreements
- Help train and mentor junior associates
What we're looking for
Two to five years of broad experience and sophistication in employment law
Experience in case development
Experience in legal research and writing
Experience in all aspects of discovery
Experience in witness interviews or investigations
Experience in brief writing
Strong set of employment counseling skills
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on employment policies and practices
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on statutory and regulatory compliance
Experience and developing expertise in advising clients on employment and separation agreements
Strong academic credentials
Exceptional communication and legal writing skills
High level of motivation and initiative
Willingness to help train and mentor junior associates
Strong work ethic
Current admittance to the California bar required
