The role
Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a midlevel associate with 2-5 years of employment law experience to join its Employment practice group in San Francisco. This role is for candidates passionate about building a practice and working creatively with clients to find solutions, preferably with experience in employment litigation.
What we're looking for
Midlevel associate with two to five years of employment law experience
Strong academic credentials
Excellent legal writing skills
Experience in employment litigation
Experience with court appearances
Experience with depositions
Experience preferably with an AmLaw 100 law firm
Federal clerkship experience· nice to have
Experience in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits· nice to have
Experience handling wage and hour matters· nice to have
Experience with client counseling· nice to have
Experience in drafting summary judgment motions and other dispositive briefing· nice to have
Experience in drafting motions to compel arbitration· nice to have
Experience in drafting discovery requests and responses· nice to have
Experience in drafting oppositions to motions for class certification· nice to have
Experience in drafting long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions· nice to have
Experience in drafting separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs· nice to have
Experience advising and counseling clients on employment law compliance including policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, employee performance and discipline, hiring and terminations· nice to have
Experience with conducting labor due diligence on M&A deals· nice to have
