The role
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher is seeking a Lateral Associate with 3-7 years of experience in environmental litigation and mass tort matters to join their Washington D.C. office. This role will focus on federal environmental litigation, involving analysis of complex regulatory schemes and federal enforcement approaches.

- Manage and complete projects with minimal direct supervision
What we're looking for
3-7 years of experience in environmental litigation
Experience in civil litigation matters at the federal level
Ability to analyze complex and technical regulatory schemes
Understanding of enforcement approaches used by federal agencies and/or the Department of Justice to enforce federal environmental requirements
Solid foundation in environmental and administrative law concepts
Strong academic credentials
Strong research and writing skills
Candidates must be self-starters
Ability to manage and complete projects with minimal direct supervision
Direct client contact experience
Genuine interest in the work
Government-side enforcement experience related to environmental or similar issues· nice to have
