Employment Associate (California)

The role

DLA Piper seeks an Employment Associate for its California Offices. This role is for an experienced lawyer with at least 2 years of PQE in labor and employment, focusing on litigation management, legal research, drafting, and advising on various employment law matters for class action and single plaintiff cases.

What you'll do

• Handle litigation management, legal research, legal drafting, and other litigation-related tasks for class action as well as single plaintiff cases
• Draft and negotiate employment, termination/severance, and related agreements
• Advise on reductions in force
• Provide advice on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, employee policies/training and leave practices
• Provide day to day advice and counsel to clients
• Communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
• Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
• Foster positive work relationships
• Comply with all firm policies and practices
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and participating in meetings as needed
• Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned
