The role
Thomsons is seeking a Lawyer/Associate with 2-5 years of M&A experience to join their corporate team in Brisbane. The role involves managing M&A transactions, corporate advisory, and commercial contracts for a mid-market focus.
What you'll do
- Manage M&A transactions
- Conduct legal due diligence
- Draft due diligence reports
- Review and draft contracts
- Provide legal advice to corporate clients
- Delegate to and assist with the development of junior lawyers
What we're looking for
2-5 years PAE
Solid experience and exposure to M&A transactions
Strong background in Corporate Advisory / Mergers & Acquisitions with a mid-market focus preferably
Experience gained in mid to top-tier firms
Ability and desire to pro-actively manage M&A transactions with a high level of autonomy
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, including delegating to and assisting with the development of junior lawyers in the team and engaging with other specialist practice areas within the firm
Solid experience with legal due diligence including drafting due diligence reports
Experience with reviewing and drafting contracts
Willingness to have a hands-on approach as a client-focused practitioner
Great relationship-building and communication skills
Willingness and ability to understand clients' commercial needs and objectives and provide solutions to achieve these
Provide sound, pragmatic and innovative legal advice to the firm's corporate clients
Good contract drafting skills
Legal analysis and problem solving skills to varied situations
Excellent attention to detail
