Associate

The role

AJ Park is seeking an Associate with 2+ years of PQE to join their IP practice group in Auckland, New Zealand. The role focuses on patent prosecution and strategy within their team of IP experts.

What you'll do

• Assess client invention proposals
• Advise on patentability and whether third party rights may be relevant
• Prepare, file and prosecute patent applications in NZ, Australia and internationally
• Advise on infringement and validity
• Draft patent specifications with a global focus
• Manage patent portfolios
• Assist with contentious matters
• Advise and guide on IP Strategy
• Proactively manage client relationships
• Provide leadership and coaching to junior and assistant team members
• Act as an ambassador for the firm, actively driving business development and building the AJ Park profile
• Author articles on relevant topics
• Present at relevant industry events where required
