The role

This is a Senior Solicitor/Senior Associate role within the Construction Disputes team at MinterEllisonRuddWatts in Auckland, New Zealand. The position is for an experienced litigator with 6-7 years of PQE, focusing on complex, high-value construction litigation.

What you'll do

Work on complex, high-value High Court construction litigation, including product defect and defective building claims
Deliver strategic project advice and dispute resolution services, including arbitrations under the Construction Contracts Act
Work closely with all members of the team
Enjoy meaningful client contact from the outset

What we're looking for

Admitted in New Zealand

6-7 years of litigation experience

Experience in, or passionate about, construction law

Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation files with a high degree of initiative and autonomy

Strong written and oral advocacy skills with meticulous attention to detail

Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers

Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike

Intellectually curious, commercially astute, and driven to excel

Genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment
