The role
Bell Gully is seeking a Senior Lawyer or Senior Associate with 6+ years of PQE for its Consumer, Regulatory and Compliance (CRC) team in Auckland. This role will focus on advising clients on complex regulatory and technology matters, including AI, ESG, data privacy, and consumer law.
What you'll do
- Advise on high-profile projects for top-tier clients
- Provide commercial, regulatory and technology advice across a range of evolving legal frameworks
- Act as a specialist advisor on corporate transactions within the wider Corporate department
- Play a key role in growing the practice
- Mentor and develop junior lawyers
What we're looking for
6 or more years PQE, including private practice and/or in-house
Good experience advising on regulatory law, including a good understanding of consumer law and/or privacy
Experience of reviewing and drafting commercial contracts
Strong technical legal skills, including drafting and problem-solving
Track record of handling complex legal issues and delivering high-quality targeted legal advice
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
An initiative-taking and innovative approach to legal challenges
A willingness to mentor and develop junior lawyers
