The role

DLA Piper is seeking a Senior Associate in their Corporate team in Auckland, New Zealand, with over 6 years of PQE. This role focuses on advising global clients on finance, M&A, and regulatory matters, with a strong emphasis on the energy and natural resources sector.

What you'll do

Advise a diverse global client base on a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A, corporate governance and structuring, and foreign investment regulation
Contribute to high-profile transactions in the energy and natural resources sector
Play a key role in mentoring junior lawyers
Support three partners
Take an active role in supervising and mentoring junior team members

What we're looking for

6+ years’ PQE

Proven track record in corporate transactions

Experience in M&A and general corporate matters

Pragmatic approach

Ability to manage complex client relationships independently

Commitment to mentoring junior lawyers

Global mindset

Adaptability and enthusiasm for working across cultures and time zones

Excellent communication skills

Excellent leadership skills

Excellent technical skills

Ideally from a top-tier or international firm· nice to have
