The role
Reed Smith is seeking a Senior-Level Entertainment (Music) Associate with 5-8 years of experience to join their Media & Entertainment practice in Los Angeles. This role will focus on high-level transactions within the music industry, advising a diverse range of clients.
What you'll do
- Work collaboratively on a range of music industry transactions, such as recording agreements, music publishing and administration agreements, music catalog acquisitions and sales, management agreements, joint venture agreements, sponsorship and endorsements, digital licensing and matters related to copyright and Artificial Intelligence
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on music M&A transactions, including conducting thorough due diligence and the preparation, review and negotiation of acquisition, sale and financing agreements
What we're looking for
5-8 years of experience
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction
Experience with recording agreements
Experience with music publishing and administration agreements
Experience with music catalog acquisitions and sales
Experience with management agreements
Experience with joint venture agreements
Experience with sponsorship and endorsements
Experience with digital licensing
Experience with copyright matters
Experience with Artificial Intelligence related matters
Experience providing legal counsel on music M&A transactions
Experience conducting due diligence for M&A transactions
Experience with preparation, review, and negotiation of acquisition, sale, and financing agreements
