Corporate - M&A Senior Associate (M) at King & Wood

The role

King & Wood is seeking a Corporate M&A Senior Associate for their Hong Kong office. This role is for an experienced lawyer with 5+ years of PQE, focusing on M&A and broader corporate advisory work for companies, institutions, and senior management.

What you'll do

Advise companies, institutions, shareholders, boards and senior management on matters requiring technical legal expertise, practical and commercially focused problem solving
Take ownership of matters
Work directly with clients
Exercise sound commercial judgment
Seek guidance and support as required
Help clients navigate both transactional and contentious matters requiring commercial judgment, strategic thinking and practical problem solving

What we're looking for

Developed M&A skills and deep experience in general corporate and commercial matters

Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills

The ability to identify practical solutions to complex legal and commercial problems

An entrepreneurial and intellectually curious approach to client service

Ability to build and manage client relationships

Strong commercial awareness and drafting skills

5+ years of post-qualification legal experience

Qualified in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction

Strong fluency in English

Enjoy working directly with boards, senior management, shareholders and business owners· nice to have

Are comfortable operating in complex or high-stakes situations where there may be no obvious path forward· nice to have

Bring a strong understanding of accounting, business, financial and commercial issues· nice to have

Have prior business experience· nice to have
