The role
Gadens is seeking a Technology, Media & Intellectual Property Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join their Sydney or Melbourne office. This role focuses on technology transactions, AI governance, privacy, and cyber preparedness within the IP and Technology practice areas.
What we're looking for
2-4 years of post-admission experience
Experience in technology transactions, AI governance and risk management frameworks, complex privacy compliance advisory, spam and surveillance regulatory advisory matters, or cyber preparedness and incident response
Strong technical skills and academics from a leading Australian or international university
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal)
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to be curious about client industries, sectors and develop knowledge quickly
Demonstrated skillset to manage timeframes and proactively manage priorities within a team
Collaborative working style with a solutions-oriented mindset
An interest in business development, profile-building and mentoring junior lawyers
A strong interest in AI and emerging technologies
Experience in AI governance and risk management frameworks (desirable)· nice to have
