The role
Mills Oakley is seeking a lawyer with 1-8 years of PQE to join their Insurance team in Melbourne. This role will focus on defending claims in professional indemnity, general liability, management liability, and Directors & Officers law, working closely with partner Sarah Fountain.
What you'll do
- Manage files including meeting deadlines and managing documents
- Review evidence and prepare advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
- Communicate with clients both in writing and verbally
- Identify issues, brief experts and analyse opinion
- Prepare court documents, including statements of evidence
- Draft correspondence and communicate with other practitioners
- Prepare for, manage online processes and appear in Court
- Brief and liaise with counsel
- Stay updated on industry regulations, case law, and emerging trends in professional indemnity law
What we're looking for
Between 1-8 years PQE, ideally in a defendant insurance team

Demonstrated experience handling a busy file load
