The role
Ashurst Perkins Coie is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate with 4+ years of PQE in corporate lending to join their London team. This role will focus on drafting, negotiating, and closing a wide range of high-quality financing transactions, with an emphasis on building client relationships and developing AI capabilities.
What you'll do
- Act on all elements of a financing from term sheet stage, through to closing and post-closing
- Draft and negotiate facility agreements and intercreditor agreements
- Supervise other members of the team
- Negotiate security documents
- Liaise with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters
- Build client relationships with relationship banks and key corporate clients
- Use Harvey and other AI solutions in your work
- Develop AI capabilities
- Mentor junior members of the team
- Supervise trainees
- Work closely with the wider Global Loans and Global Markets team
- Build your own cross-practice network within the firm
- Contribute to the firm's D&I and Corporate Responsibility initiatives
- Draft legal documents
- Advise clients
- Negotiate with counterparts and lead calls
- Coordinate completion of transactions
What we're looking for
4-8+ years PQE in corporate lending
Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents in a private practice environment
Experience practising on multi-jurisdictional matters
Client facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs
Experience of negotiating with counterparts
Enthusiasm for business development
