The role
Ashurst Perkins Coie is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate with 4+ years of experience in corporate lending to join their Glasgow team. This role will focus on M&A transactions within the Global Loans practice group.
What you'll do
- Act on all elements of a financing from term sheet stage, through to closing and post-closing
- Draft and negotiate facility agreements and intercreditor agreements
- Supervise other members of the team
- Negotiate security documents
- Liaise with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters
- Build client relationships with relationship banks and key corporate clients
- Use Harvey and other AI solutions in your work
- Draft legal documents
- Advise clients
- Negotiate with counterparts and lead calls
- Coordinate completion of transactions
- Build your own cross-practice network within the firm
- Contribute to the firm's D&I and Corporate Responsibility initiatives
What we're looking for
4-8+ PQE Associate/Senior Associate with proven post-qualification experience in corporate lending
Strong general banking experience with a focus on corporate lending
Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents in a private practice environment
Experience practising on multi-jurisdictional matters
Client facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs
Experience of negotiating with counterparts
A commercial approach
Enthusiasm for business development and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to mentor junior members of the team and supervise trainees
Developing AI capabilities is an essential part of this role
