The role

Gilbert + Tobin is seeking a Lawyer with 4+ years of experience to join their leading Competition, Consumer + Market Regulation practice in Sydney. This role focuses on advising clients on complex competition law and regulatory matters.

What you'll do

Be involved in mergers and acquisitions, including ACCC clearances
Advise on competition law issues arising from joint ventures and strategic alliances
Handle ACCC investigations, enforcement proceedings and litigation
Represent cartel leniency applicants in Australia and Asia Pacific
Represent parties in civil damages proceedings
Work on criminal investigations under the CCA
Advise on access regimes, economic regulation and pricing decisions
Represent regulators and regulated businesses
Work on regulatory design and implementation for government entities in the Asia Pacific region
Advise on legislative reform, including preparing submissions to government and regulatory reviews
Handle misleading and deceptive conduct, consumer protection and unconscionability issues

What we're looking for

4 - 7+ years post-admission experience in Competition Law and regulatory matters

Strong drafting and advice writing skills

Superior technical knowledge and a genuine interest in competition and consumer law

The ability to work effectively with clients

The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment

A desire to develop and progress quickly
