Legal consultant (interim) – 7 + PQE - TMT - UAE at A&O Shearman

The role

A&O Shearman is seeking a Legal Consultant (interim) with 7+ years of PQE in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) matters to be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role is for experienced lawyers looking for interim assignments within the TMT practice area.

What you'll do

Advising and supporting across a broad range of technology, media and telecommunications matters
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in line with business objectives

What we're looking for

Minimum of seven years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for TMT work

Experience in TMT matters, including data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, digital transformation and regulatory compliance

Practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the region

Consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach

Desire to take ownership of their career and be responsible for their own professional development and network

Researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment

Recent in-house legal experience within the Tech/Telecoms industry· nice to have

Experience in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic· nice to have
