Lawyer - Tax at Thomsons

The role

Thomsons is seeking a Lawyer - Tax with 1-4 years of experience to join their Melbourne office. This role focuses on front-end transactional tax and advisory work within the corporate M&A, real estate, and banking and finance sectors.

What you'll do

Advise on all areas of corporate tax including income tax, GST and stamp duty
Assist with front-end corporate M&A, real estate and banking and financing transactions
Assist with tax related drafting in transaction documents (such as Share / Asset Sale Agreements and Contracts of Sale etc)
Prepare tax drafting for corporate transaction documents
Assist with front-end tax queries across a wide variety of areas
Prepare front-end tax memorandums

What we're looking for

1-4 years PAE

High level of academic excellence

Top quality technical and analytical skills

Effective communication skills

Ability to work well as a team player

Experience in preparing tax drafting for corporate transaction documents

Demonstrated income tax experience and related preparation of tax advice including front-end tax memorandums will be particularly helpful

Proficiency in income tax, GST and stamp duty· nice to have
