The role
K&L Gates seeks a Lawyer with 2-5 years of experience for its Litigation and Dispute Resolution team in Brisbane. This role will involve working on complex commercial disputes, shareholder issues, regulatory investigations, and other contentious matters under the guidance of experienced practitioners.
What you'll do
- Act for clients in a range of contractual disputes
- Advise on oppression claims, derivative actions, breaches of shareholder agreements and disputes arising from the breakdown of joint ventures and corporate partnerships
- Draft and respond to applications for urgent interim relief, including freezing orders, search orders and other equitable remedies
- Support clients facing regulatory investigations and enforcement action, advising on civil liability exposure arising from regulatory findings, and handling related civil claims
- Act in contentious matters arising from property transactions, landlord and tenant relationships and construction contracts
- Represent clients in negligence claims
- Assist in delivering strategic legal advice
- Manage disputes from inception through to resolution
- Draft key documents
- Appear in courts and tribunals as appropriate
