The role

Hall & Wilcox is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join their General Insurance practice in Melbourne. This role will focus on property damage and insurance coverage disputes, working on complex large loss subrogated recoveries and property damage liability defence litigation.

What you'll do

Analyse policy wording and advise clients on coverage and stakeholder management
Review documents and prepare evidence
Draft correspondence to the Court and third parties
Confer with witnesses and prepare witness statements
Prepare briefs for counsel
Draft Court documents and attend Court
Appear at mediations
Draft client advices
Draft letters of instruction to experts

What we're looking for

3+ years of post-admission experience in insurance law

Experience in providing indemnity and coverage advice to a range of insurers

Experience in large loss property damage recovery/liability work

Experience in managing and running litigation end-to-end through the Courts

Clear, concise legal writing and drafting skills

Strong attention to detail

A team-orientated approach to working
