Insurance (Motor) - Associate at Mills Oakley

The role

An Associate is sought for Mills Oakley's Insurance team in Melbourne to focus on motor vehicle litigation, representing major Australian insurers in property damage claims. This role is for a lawyer with 3+ years of PQE in motor vehicle insurance litigation.

What you'll do

Defend and pursue motor vehicle property damage claims
Conduct recovery actions on behalf of insurers
Handle liability disputes arising from motor vehicle accidents
Investigate liability, quantum and indemnity issues
Conduct negotiations, mediations and settlement conferences
Appear before the Magistrates’ Court
Prepare pleadings, evidence and advocacy materials

What we're looking for

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in motor vehicle insurance litigation

General insurance experience will be considered

Experience in appearing before the Magistrates’ Court

Experience in credit-hire as well as repair and liability disputes

The ability to manage a high file load

Proven history of meeting deadlines

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

A pragmatic and commercially focused approach to dispute resolution

Motor vehicle and property damage experience will be preferred· nice to have
