The role
This is an opportunity for a Solicitor or Associate Solicitor with at least 3 years of PQE to join Irwin Mitchell's Medical Negligence practice in Birmingham. The role is for future opportunities, focused on building a talent pool for roles within this specialist claimant area.
What you'll do
- Manage cases through key procedural stages
- Work to court deadlines and directions
- Instruct and liaise with experts
- Progress claims effectively and commercially
- Contribute to successful outcomes through effective case management
What we're looking for
Approximately 3+ years' PQE
Experience handling complex, high-value or procedurally challenging matters
Strong transferable litigation skills
Ability to build trusted client relationships
Ability to take detailed instructions
Ability to analyse complex evidence
Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice
Experience supporting senior colleagues on high-value, complex or strategically significant cases
Genuine interest in Medical Negligence law
Desire to retrain within a specialist claimant practice
Willingness to develop new technical knowledge and expertise
Confidence to manage own workload
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Compassionate and client-focused approach
Eligibility to work in the UK
Experience gained within a claimant litigation environment· nice to have
