Associate - Real Estate development

The role

Mills & Reeve is seeking a solicitor with 0-2 years of PQE to join their Tier 1-ranked Real Estate development team in Cambridge. This role will focus on development work, providing exposure to prestigious clients and significant transactions, while also offering a broad range of commercial real estate experience.

What you'll do

• Support complex development transactions, including site acquisitions and disposals, option agreements, promotion agreements and conditional contracts
• Conduct due diligence
• Review title documents
• Raise and respond to pre-contract enquiries
• Report on searches
• Work closely with colleagues across planning, construction and other specialist teams to deliver multi-disciplinary transactions
• Advise on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property
• Draft and negotiate leases, licences to alter, agreements for lease and other landlord and tenant documentation
• Manage completion and post-completion matters, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
• Build strong relationships with clients through direct contact
• Deliver a first-class service to some of the firm's largest and most high-profile clients
• Take ownership of workstreams within larger transactions
• Coordinate with colleagues across teams and offices to ensure seamless delivery
• Contribute to the team's collaborative knowledge-sharing culture
• Participate in business development, client events and sector-focused initiatives
• Gain exposure to a broad range of sectors and asset classes
