Associate - EL/PL and/or Industrial Disease

The role

DWF is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3+ years of PQE to join its Industrial Disease team in Birmingham. This role will focus on handling a caseload of defendant Major Injury and Casualty claims, including disease and large loss matters, for prominent insurers.

What you'll do

• Manage a caseload of Major Injury and Casualty, compromising of a variety of defendant Casualty, Disease, and Large Loss claims matters, with claim ranging in value
• Draft pleadings
• Prepare reports to clients
• Attend court hearings
• Work to court deadlines
• Conduct liability investigations
• Gather evidence
• Instruct experts
• Consider medical causation issues
• Prioritise work effectively and to maximise efficiency in working practices, adhering to court deadlines and directions, as well as the client's service level agreements
• Build working relationships internally and externally in order to maintain client relationships, develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the Firm’s direction and client needs
• Provide support and act as the 'go to person' for more junior members in the team
