Healthcare Principal Associate

The role

We are seeking a qualified solicitor with 5+ years of PQE to join our specialist Healthcare team. This role will focus on managing complex and high-value defendant clinical negligence claims, developing junior lawyers, and leading client-facing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the healthcare sector and experience with NHS Resolution.

What you'll do

• Manage case load of litigated and pre-litigated clinical negligence cases
• Conduct relevant investigations in order to repudiate and/or conclude the claim
• Liaise with various parties such as claimants and their solicitors, clients, counsel, experts etc
• Obtain documents and instruct experts
• Contribute to business development initiatives
• Contribute to operational initiatives
• Complete MI procedures
• Adhere to client protocols
• Achieve financial and chargeable targets
• Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and key progress indicators are adhered to
• Contribute to and lead client facing initiatives
• Contribute to and lead business development initiatives
• Comply with relevant policies and procedures
• Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values
